NASW Celebrates Black History Month

2007 NASW Slate

The NASW National Committee on Nominations and Leadership Identification in December 2006 adopted the slate for the spring 2007 election. Members eligible to vote must hold NASW membership in good standing as of Feb. 28, 2007. Ballots will be mailed in April 2007. Completed ballots must be received by May 25, 2007.

Candidates' biographies, platform statements and endorsements will accompany the ballots and will be posted on NASW's Web site. Campaigns must be conducted in accordance with the National Committee on Nominations and Leadership Identification's election standards.

Persons considered for the slate, but not nominated, may be added by petition. Petitions are due at the NASW national office by Feb. 9, 2007.

Clinical social workers in private practice who meet HIPAA's "health care provider" definition, transmit health information electronically or use business associations to do so must obtain National Provider Identifier (NPI) numbers by May 2007 in order to be reimbursed by third-party payers and to be compliant with HIPAA regulations.
