NASW Election Slate
The
NASW National Committee on Nominations
and Leadership Identification was
meeting at press time to adopt
a slate of candidates for the association's
spring 2003 election. The slate
will be published in the NASW News
in February 2003.
Persons
considered for the slate, but not
nominated, may be added by petition.
Petitions are due at the NASW national
office by Feb. 10, 2003. Rules
for submission are stated in NASW's
bylaws Article IX.B.2.e.

Members
who qualify to deduct membership
dues payments from income taxes
should note the following:

For
tax year 2002, 13.78 percent
of the annual NASW dues payment
is not deductible. The percentage
is based on the amount of association
lobbying activity in 2002. |

For
tax planning purposes, the
nondeductible portion of
the NASW dues payment to
be made in tax year 2003
is 10.68 percent. |
