'Club Drugs'
Pose Treatment Challenges
There is evidence
that the use of club drugs has been increasing.

It is well known that as children
become teenagers, many begin to experiment with alcohol
and drugs. Social workers are trained to recognize signs
of use and abuse and respond appropriately as teens mature.
In the last decade, however,
social workers who address chemical dependency issues have
been grappling with a new class of substances — "club
drugs" — and exploring the effects they have as well
as what kind of treatment is appropriate and effective.
