NASW Responds to Hurricane Katrina
Volunteer Info

  • American Red Cross
We have received several concerns regarding the American Red Cross’s (ARC) coordination of relief efforts.  The ARC has been designated by the United States Congress to coordinate disaster relief services and may enter into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with other organizations in providing assistance and services to victims of disasters.

Perhaps as the events continue to unfold, there will be opportunities for public input into the overall efforts regard disaster relief.  NASW will be prepared to offer comments and recommendations based upon comments from our many members that have been involved in the relief efforts.
