Annie E Casey Foundation 2007 Kids Count Report

January 2008

Annie E Casey Foundation has released its annual Kids Count Report which provides data on children and various indicators of health and well-being.  This year the report is also available on-line additional information on a state level allowing providers and policy advocates to conduct state-by-state comparisons and more in-depth examination of state performance indicators.  Information is provided on the following ten indicators: 

  • Preventing Low Birth Weight Babies
  • Reducing Infant Mortality
  • Reducing the Child Death Rate
  • Reducing the Teen Death Rate
  • Reducing the Teen Birth Rate
  • Reducing the High School Drop Out Rate
  • Reducing the Number of Disconnected Youth
  • Increasing the Percentage of Children Whose Parents Have Stable Employment
  • Reducing the Child Poverty Rate
  • Increasing the Percentage of Children Living in Two-Parent Families
