Be an Online Activist for Your Profession. It Takes Only Two Minutes.
You can join 30,000 colleagues who’ve already made a difference for our profession by sending Congress letters in support of legislation that ensures the future and vitality of our profession. Thanks to your support, the Dorothy I. Height and Whitney M. Young, Jr. Social Work Reinvestment Act (H.R. 5447/S. 2858) has gained momentum with 76 cosponsors in the House and 12 cosponsors in the Senate. But we’re not done yet. Click here to send your preformatted letter to your House representatives and here to send one to your Senators. This crucial legislation will help ensure that you and your 600,000 social work colleagues in the United States can continue to serve individuals, families, and communities for years to come. Let your voice be heard on Capitol Hill.

Your Activism Does Work. House Holds Hearing on Future of Social Work.

Congress has recognized the critical role that social workers play in the everyday challenges faced by our nation and recently held a hearing in the House of Representatives to determine the role of social work in the future. On July 29, the House Subcommittee on Healthy Families and Communities held the first hearing on the profession of social work. You can view the hearing, “Caring for the Vulnerable: The State of Social Work in America,” here. This hearing is an important milestone for the Social Work Reinvestment Initiative.
