It Only Takes a Few Minutes to be an Activist. Urge Your Representatives to Cosponsor the Social Work Reinvestment Act.
The Dorothy I. Height and Whitney M. Young, Jr. Social Work Reinvestment Act (H.R. 5447/S. 2858), when enacted, will enable you and your 600,000 colleagues to better serve individuals, families, and communities. Thanks to your groundswell of grassroots support with almost 19,000 letters, emails, and postcards, the House version of the legislation (H.R. 5447) now has 72 cosponsors. Senator Barbara Mikulski introduced the Senate companion bill (S. 2858) on World Social Work Day, April 15; since then, the bill has garnered 10 cosponsors. This legislation has united all 10 of the professional social workers in Congress and has bipartisan support. Learn more at www.SocialWorkReinvestment.org. If you have not already done so, send a letter to your Senator in support of S. 2858 here. Send a letter to your House Representative in support of H.R. 5447 here.
