Hope Conference Speakers
James H. Townsend (JT) is currently president and CEO of TGC, Inc., a health care management company. Mr. Townsend has extensive experience in managed healthcare and medical and mental health companies. He has experience providing workshops on strategic business planning, management development/mentoring, stress management, and managing risk in clinical settings. His publications include, “The Task of Balancing High-Quality Health Care with Cost-Effectiveness,” in The Journal of Managed Mental Health Care. Previously, Mr. Townsend was Senior Vice President, at Americhoice MSO. He has served as Chief Operating Officer for Omni Healthcare, Inc., a 189,000 member HMO. He also served as Vice-President of Medical Program Services, Vice-President of National Provider Contracting, national Vice-President of Medical Program Services, Vice-President of National Development Medical Clinics, and Corporate Director Mental Health. Mr. Townsend holds a Master’s in Health Care Administration and a Master’s in Clinical Social Work and was in clinical practice for 12 years. Mr. Townsend is also a former trustee for the NASW Insurance Trust and a member of the Academy of Certified Social Workers. He received his MSW degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and his MHA from Saint Mary’s College. >> Back to Conference Speakers
