This teleconference will provide an overview of the legal issues commonly faced by social workers who provide services to children and families as highlighted in the NASW Legal Defense Fund Law Note, Social Workers & the Legal Rights of Children. Topics to be addressed include: consent to treatment, confidentiality, definition of family, divorce and child custody proceedings, and parental access to records. Information will also be provided about legal resources available from NASW.
