After a series of delays, the U.S. Department of Education announced today (Tuesday, April 18, 2000), that applications for the Elementary School Counseling Demonstration Program are now available. The application deadline is June 9, 2000.
Grant applications can be accessed in two ways -- on-line and through the Department of Education.

Purpose of Program: To assist local educational agencies to establish or expand elementary school counseling programs.
Eligible Applicants: Local educational agencies.
Applications Available: April 18, 2000.
Deadline for Receipt of Applications: June 9, 2000.
Available Funds: $20,000,000.
Maximum Grant: $400,000.
Estimated Range of Awards: $250,000-$400,000.
Estimated Average Size of Awards: $325,000.
Estimated Number of Awards: 60.
