G8 Summit to Meet: Ask President
Bush to Support Equitable Economic Development

Issue
G8 Country Leaders will be meeting July 6-8 in Scotland .
During this meeting, members of ONE: The Campaign to Make Poverty
History will be urging members of the G8 to work on guiding
principles that are already spelled out in the United Nations’ Millennium
Development Goals. The goals include:
- Eradicating extreme poverty
- Achieving universal primary education
- Promoting gender equality
- Reducing child mortality
- Improving maternal health
- Combating HIV/AIDS, malaria & other diseases
- Ensuring environmental sustainability
- Developing a global partnership for development.
President Bush can serve as a leader to promote these goals
through the G8.
Action Requested
Send a letter to President Bush by July 5, asking him to
take leadership during the convention. A letter is available
